DESCRIPTION:As part of a national initiative to increase Mental Health Literacy\, we invite you to participate in Mental Health First Aid Training on facilitated by Certified Mental Health First Aid trainer\, Kathleen Bartolini on 5/15/26\, 9am-4:30pm at NECC Haverhill Campus\, Room C204. \nMental Health First Aid teaches participants how to identify\, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. Just as CPR helps those without medical training to assist an individual having a heart attack\, Mental Health First Aid prepares participants to help someone developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Developed by the National Council on Behavioral Health\, Mental Health First Aid has become a well known movement in the United States—more than 1 million people are certified Mental Health First Aiders\, and that number is growing every day. \nCourse materials are provided. You must be able to commit to the full training program\, (one training day 9am-4:30pm)\, plus two hours of self-paced online pre-work\, in order to become nationally certified as a Mental Health First Aider. \nThis training is open to NECC Students. DESCRIPTION:As part of a national initiative to increase Mental Health Literacy\, we invite you to participate in Mental Health First Aid Training on facilitated by Certified Mental Health First Aid trainer\, Kathleen Bartolini on 5/29/26\, 9am-4:30pm at NECC Haverhill Campus\, Room C204. \nMental Health First Aid teaches participants how to identify\, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. Just as CPR helps those without medical training to assist an individual having a heart attack\, Mental Health First Aid prepares participants to help someone developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Developed by the National Council on Behavioral Health\, Mental Health First Aid has become a well known movement in the United States—more than 1 million people are certified Mental Health First Aiders\, and that number is growing every day. \nCourse materials are provided. You must be able to commit to the full training program\, (one training day 9am-4:30pm)\, plus two hours of self-paced online pre-work\, in order to become nationally certified as a Mental Health First Aider. \nThis training is open to NECC Faculty and Staff. DESCRIPTION:Northern Essex Community College is proud to serve as a host site for one of the 2026 Special Olympics Massachusetts Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Statewide Final Leg events on Monday\, June 1. \n  \nThe Torch Run\, known as the “Final Leg\,” brings together law enforcement officers and community members from across Massachusetts to carry the “Flame of Hope” in support of Special Olympics athletes and the Summer Games. \n  \nThe run will begin at approximately 9:15 a.m. from the TC Visitor Parking Lot and travel along College Avenue to the track\, where a short presentation and welcome ceremony will begin around 9:30 a.m. \n  \n📍 Event Details:\n• Start Location: TC Visitor Parking Lot\n• Route: College Avenue to the Track\n• Presentation Begins: Approximately 9:30 a.m.\n• Rain Location: Gymnasium \n  \nWe encourage NECC faculty and staff to line College Avenue to cheer on the runners and show support for the athletes and law enforcement participants. Everyone is also welcome to attend the presentation at the track immediately following the run. \n  \nThe Law Enforcement Torch Run is one of the largest grassroots fundraising and awareness initiatives supporting Special Olympics Massachusetts\, helping to promote inclusion and opportunities for athletes across the Commonwealth. \n  \nWe look forward to welcoming the runners to campus and showing our NECC spirit and support for this incredible cause! \n Print View
