Knight’s Reading Challenge 2025- 2026
Join NECC’s Knight’s Reading Challenge: read 12 books in 12 months this academic year! Each month features a different theme chosen by our NECC Librarians. Participate by reading a book, ebook, or audiobook that matches the monthly theme. Once you’ve read your book, fill out a short questionnaire about your reading. Library staff will draw one name each month to win a prize! All Northern Essex Community College students, faculty, staff, and alumni are encouraged to participate in the Knight’s Reading Challenge.
Themes for the monthly reading challenge:
September: A comic or graphic novel
October: A banned or challenged book
November: A food or cookbook
December: A cozy winter read
January: A book made into a TV show or movie
February: A myth, fantasy, or science fiction read
March: A memoir or autobiography
April: A short story, essay, or poem
May: A book set somewhere you want to visit
June: A Celebrity Book Club read
July: A story of resistance
August: A book about nature or science
Prizes will vary by month, but include:
