{"id":22430,"date":"2025-03-14T18:44:31","date_gmt":"2025-03-14T22:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2025\/03\/14\/necc-culinary-students-to-prepare-friday-lunches-at-bosa-2\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T13:30:52","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T17:30:52","slug":"necc-culinary-students-to-prepare-friday-lunches-at-bosa-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2025\/03\/14\/necc-culinary-students-to-prepare-friday-lunches-at-bosa-2\/","title":{"rendered":"NECC Culinary Students to Prepare Friday Lunches at BOSA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Haverhill, MA (March 14, 2025)\u2013 On Friday, March 28th, BOSA Coastal Italian in Downtown Haverhill launches their \u201cRising Stars\u201d lunch program in partnership with Northern Essex Community College.\u00a0 As part of a hands-on learning experience, students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/necc.edu\/academics\/credit-programs\/culinary-hospitality\/\">NECC culinary program<\/a> will source ingredients for the lunch, prepare the food, serve guests, and handle set-up and clean-up of the restaurant.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_28972\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/03\/Heights-scaled.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-28972\" class=\" wp-image-28972\" src=\"http:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2026\/02\/Heights-scaled.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"404\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-28972\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">BOSA and the NECC Lupoli Family Institute of Culinary Arts are located in The Heights building in downtown Haverhill<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This unique opportunity to \u201ctaste what they teach\u201d will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Fridays from March 28th through April 25th. The lunch is $15 per person, and guests are encouraged to provide valuable feedback to students during this critical training experience.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020,\u00a0The Lupoli Family Institute of Culinary Arts\u00a0opened at\u00a0NECC\u00a0in downtown Haverhill, for which the Lupoli Family Foundation pledged $500,000. As part of the pledge, Sal Lupoli\u2019s vision was to host the students at BOSA Coastal Italian for experiential learning opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so thrilled to be working with NECC again this year for these hands-on training lunches,\u201d said Sal Lupoli, President and CEO of Lupoli Companies and BOSA Coastal Italian. \u201cLast year we tested the waters with one lunch event, and this year we\u2019re opening it to the public every Friday for 5 weeks so that the community can experience this exciting program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe deeply value this continued partnership,\u201d said Lane Glenn, President of NECC. \u201cOur culinary students are known for their preparedness and professionalism and it\u2019s very exciting for them to hone their craft with true leaders in the hospitality industry. Through the student lunch program, we are looking forward to NECC students contributing to and upholding BOSA\u2019s high standards for quality and service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The menu for the \u201cRising Stars\u201d lunch includes a first course with choice of Caesar Salad or Italian Wedding Soup, a second course with choice of Chicken Saltimbocca, Mushroom Risotto or Margherita Pizza and choice of Chocolate Chip Cannoli or Chocolate Toffee Cookie for dessert.\u00a0 Soda, coffee, tea and water are included in the $15 price.
