{"id":22750,"date":"2024-03-22T16:22:55","date_gmt":"2024-03-22T20:22:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2024\/03\/22\/marketing-council-honors-northern-essex-at-national-conference\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T12:00:27","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T16:00:27","slug":"marketing-council-honors-northern-essex-at-national-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/03\/22\/marketing-council-honors-northern-essex-at-national-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Marketing Council Honors Northern Essex at National Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seattle, WA (March 22, 2024) \u2013 Northern Essex Community College (NECC) received a 2023 Paragon Award from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncmpr.org\/\">National Council for Marketing &amp; Public Relations<\/a> (NCMPR) at the council\u2019s recent national conference in Seattle, Washington.<\/p>\n<p>The award celebrates the college\u2019s marketing team&#8217;s work on the <a href=\"https:\/\/paragons.secure-platform.com\/a\/gallery\/rounds\/65\/details\/59030\">Success for All NECC Strategic Planner<\/a>. This groundbreaking document might be the first of its kind in higher education. It serves as a daily workbook for college employees to measure their work against the college\u2019s Strategic Plan goals. <a href=\"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/03\/Paragon-Award-scaled.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-27810 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2026\/02\/Paragon-Award-scaled.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you tell your college\u2019s story well, you ensure your that students can find themselves, and the supports and services they need, at your institution,\u201d said Jeff Julian, NCMPR\u2019s 2023-24 president. \u201cIt\u2019s evident in the winning entries that our members are committed to serving their students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NECC was the sole Paragon Award winner among the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts, all of which are members of NCMPR. In addition, NECC\u2019s director of public relations, Melissa Bouse, was recognized as a finalist for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncmpr.org\/rising-star-awards\/district\/1\/2023\">NCMPR\u2019s national Rising Star award<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 2023 Paragon Awards drew 1,531 entries from 210 colleges across the country and was judged by 65 marketing and public relations professionals.<\/p>\n<p>NCMPR\u2019s Paragon Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design, strategy and communication at community and technical colleges. It&#8217;s the only national competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.<\/p>\n<p><em>NCMPR supports the professional development of community college communicators, serving more than 1,600 members from close to 600 colleges across the United States and Canada. It\u2019s the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges and is one of the largest affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges.
