Haverhill, MA (November 13, 2023)\u2013 Northern Essex Community College announced is has been selected as an education partner for Amazon\u2019s Career Choice<\/a> program, providing Amazon\u2019s hourly employees with access to its 60 degree and certificate programs.\u00a0 \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking forward to welcoming these Amazon employees on our campuses and into our classrooms,\u201d says NECC Dean of Enrollment Services Donna Bertolino. \u201cNorthern Essex is committed to increasing access to higher education in our communities, and partnerships like these are critical to that mission.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a partner for the Career Choice program, Amazon will cover the tuition and fees for eligible employees to enroll in courses at Northern Essex. They can choose from a wide variety of educational offerings, including high school completion\/GED, English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, certificate programs and associate degree programs.<\/p>\n

About Amazon Career Choice\u00a0<\/strong>
\nAmazon\u2019s Career Choice program is an educational benefit that empowers employees to learn new skills for career success at Amazon or elsewhere. The program meets individual learners where they are on their education journey through a variety of education and upskilling opportunities including pre-paid college tuition, industry certifications designed to lead to in-demand jobs, and foundational skills such as English language proficiency, high school diplomas, and GEDs.<\/p>\n

In the U.S., the company is investing $1.2 billion to upskill more than 300,000 employees by 2025 to help move them into higher-paying, in-demand jobs. Amazon\u2019s Career Choice program has a rigorous selection process for third-party partner educators, choosing partners that are focused on helping employees through their education programs, assisting them with job placements, and overall offering education that leads to career success.<\/p>\n
