\"\"<\/a>Haverhill, MA (July 6, 2021) \u2013 Northern Essex Community College is pleased to announce the addition of women\u2019s golf as the college\u2019s 13th intercollegiate sport. The announcement comes in conjunction with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announcing the split of women\u2019s golf<\/a> into multiple divisions following a vote of the NJCAA Board or Regents last week.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s program will practice and compete in partnership with the Knights men\u2019s golf program and be led by current men\u2019s coach Mike Dube<\/a>, who has been with the program for four years as of this year’s season. Atkinson Country Club will continue to serve as the program’s home course.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we have always welcomed women\u2019s golfers to be part of the men\u2019s program, this now gives additional opportunities to our female students to practice and compete for their own championships,\u201d commented NECC Athletic Director Dan Blair.<\/p>\n

Any returning or incoming student interested in joining the women\u2019s golf program should contact coach Mike Dube (mdube@Atkinsoncc.com) or Director of Athletics Dan Blair (dblair@necc.mass.edu).<\/p>\n

The NECC athletic program<\/a> will make a full return to practice and competition for the 2021-22 athletic seasons and kick start the year on Tuesday August 10th with the inaugural NECC Athletics BBQ Knight<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Northern Essex Community College competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and sponsors 13 varsity intercollegiate sports including baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, softball, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf, Esports and men’s and women’s track and field.
