{"id":23884,"date":"2021-11-18T19:02:43","date_gmt":"2021-11-19T00:02:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2021\/11\/19\/necc-solicits-photos-for-anniversary-mosaic\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T15:24:52","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T19:24:52","slug":"necc-solicits-photos-for-anniversary-mosaic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2021\/11\/18\/necc-solicits-photos-for-anniversary-mosaic\/","title":{"rendered":"NECC Solicits Photos for Anniversary Mosaic"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_24608\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2021\/11\/NECC_Mosaic_Screengrab-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24608\" class=\"wp-image-24608 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2021\/11\/NECC_Mosaic_Screengrab-300x186.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"186\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-24608\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This photo mosaic will celebrate NECC&#8217;s Anniversary.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Northern Essex Community College is collecting photos, now through January 14, for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/engage\/necc-anniversary-celebration\/photo-mosaic\/\">photo mosaic<\/a> that\u2019s being created in celebration of the college\u2019s anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>Alumni, current students, former and current faculty and staff, and community members are all invited to submit photos celebrating their connection to the college.<\/p>\n<p>Graduation and other campus photos are welcome as well as recent photos with anniversary greetings and simple portraits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2021\/11\/Dr.-Beninato.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-24609 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2021\/11\/Dr.-Beninato-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>For example, Lawrence Dentist Joseph Beninato, a longtime supporter of the college, posted a photo holding a sign celebrating his own 25 years of involvement with the college.<\/p>\n<p>And business graduate Andy Bergamini submitted a photo of his Northern Essex ID card from 1973.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are getting creative with this, and we love that,\u201d said Allison Dolan-Wilson, the college\u2019s vice president of institutional advancement. \u201cOur goal is to capture thousands of photos that cover the 60-year history of the college and bring them together to create one searchable image.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The photos will be used to create an image of the library on the Haverhill Campus that will be printed and displayed on campus and also available online. The process for submitting photos is simple, and, after a photo is submitted, an email is sent showing where the photo fits in the mosaic image.<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2021\/11\/Andy-B.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-24607 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2021\/11\/Andy-B-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The photo mosaic page can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/engage\/necc-anniversary-celebration\/photo-mosaic\/\">here<\/a>\u00a0 and the link for submitting photos is at the top in a yellow box.<\/p>\n<p>When photos are submitted they can also be shared on social media, using the hashtag #NECC60<\/p>\n<p>This year Northern Essex Community College is celebrating three important milestones: <a href=\"https:\/\/necc.access.preservica.com\/index.php\/1960s\/\">the 60th anniversary of the college\u2019s founding<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/necc.access.preservica.com\/index.php\/permanent-campus-in-haverhill\/\">the 50th anniversary of the Haverhill Campus opening<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/necc.access.preservica.com\/index.php\/a-permanent-campus-in-lawrence\/\">the 30th anniversary of the Dimitry Building opening<\/a> as the college\u2019s first permanent building in Lawrence.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about the history of the college, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/engage\/necc-anniversary-celebration\/\">60th anniversary website<\/a> which includes a college timeline, notable alumni, media coverage, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Northern Essex Community College has campuses in both Haverhill and Lawrence.
