Major<\/strong>: Criminal Justice<\/p>\n

High School and Year of Graduation<\/strong>: College Imara (DRCongo) in 1980<\/p>\n

What brought you to NECC?:\u00a0<\/strong> I always dreamed of earning a degree here in the United States.<\/p>\n

Why did you choose your major?<\/strong>: To prepare for a degree in law.<\/p>\n

What are you planning for fall, 2020?: <\/strong>I must rest and completely recover as this semester I had some health issues.<\/p>\n

What did you appreciate most about NECC?: <\/strong>I appreciated everything, but particularly the tutoring.<\/p>\n

Was there a faculty or staff member who was especially helpful? If yes, how did they help you? <\/strong>All faculty and staff helped me especially professors Scott Joubert and Elizabeth Casanave.<\/p>\n

Were you involved in any extracurricular activities? <\/strong>I volunteer at Habitat for Humanity and I teach the gospel every Sunday at my church.<\/p>\n

What surprised you most about NECC? <\/strong>The way students are treated: Kindly<\/p>\n

What advice would you give an incoming NECC freshman?\u00a0 <\/strong>To succeed, be sure to use all opportunities offered at NECC.<\/p>\n

What would people be surprised to know about you? <\/strong>That I am still going to school at my age… 60.<\/p>\n

\u00a0What were the biggest challenges that you faced in pursuit of your associate degree? <\/strong>I would work overnight and then attend school in the morning.<\/p>\n

What are your long term career\/education plans? <\/strong>Become a lawyer and write at least one novel or an essay on immigration and earn a Ph.D.<\/p>\n

Anything else you want to add? <\/strong>As Hemingway says, \u201ca man is never defeated\u201d and Soyinka adds \u201clife stirs\u201d. As long as I am living, I will never stop learning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
