{"id":27082,"date":"2019-02-20T14:04:54","date_gmt":"2019-02-20T19:04:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2019\/02\/20\/pentucketbank\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T14:11:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T18:11:24","slug":"pentucketbank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2019\/02\/20\/pentucketbank\/","title":{"rendered":"NECC\u2019s Lecture Hall Now Named in Honor of Pentucket Bank"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_19752\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2019\/02\/Pentucket-Bank.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-19752\" class=\"wp-image-19752 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2019\/02\/Pentucket-Bank-300x275.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"275\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-19752\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Scott Cote, CEO of Pentucket Bank, and NECC President Lane Glenn<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Lecture Hall A has been the name of the two-story lecture hall in the Spurk Building on Northern Essex Community College\u2019s Haverhill Campus ever since the college\u2019s Elliott Street campus opened in 1971.<\/p>\n<p>With the dedication of two new plaques last week, it will now be called the Pentucket Bank Lecture Hall.\u00a0 The Pentucket Bank Charitable Foundation made a $50,000 gift to the college to rename the 158-seat lecture hall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply honored and grateful to have community partners like Pentucket Bank who are committed to ensuring the success of our students,\u201d said Jean Poth, vice president of NECC\u2019s institutional advancement and executive director of the NECC Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are happy to support Northern Essex, which is so critical to enhancing the education and economic well-being of the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire,\u201d said Scott Cote, chief executive officer of Pentucket Bank.<\/p>\n<p>Pentucket\u2019s recent gift is another example of Pentucket Bank\u2019s support of Northern Essex said Poth. She noted the Pentucket Bank endowed scholarship as well as its sponsorship for NECC\u2019s September Signature Fundraising Events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can always count on Pentucket Bank to support Northern Essex, its mission, and its students,\u201d Poth said. \u201dOur Lecture Hall A is a valuable center of learning.
