But did you know that radioactive materials can be found in everyday products, from smoke detectors to table salt, as well?<\/p>\n<p>Join Northern Essex Community College Chemistry Professor Michael Cross as he presents \u201cRadioactivity in Your Life,\u201d a free and interactive lecture that will explore lesser-known facts about radioactivity and the surprising forms it can take in your life. The presentation will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peabodylibrary.org\/\">Peabody Institute Library<\/a>, 82 Main Street, Peabody.<\/p>\n<p>This event is open to the public. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventkeeper.com\/mars\/xpages\/xp_newpopevent.cfm?zeeOrg=DANVERS&amp;EventID=5490848&amp;sw=1440\">Please register online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cross holds a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Utah, where he specialized in oxidative\u00a0lesions in DNA and RNA. He teaches courses in chemistry and forensic science at NECC.
