Producer Alexander Maggio<\/p><\/div>\n

Members of the public are invited to attend a free screening and discussion session with Alexander Maggio, producer of the hit CBS television series “Madam Secretary,” on Wednesday, April 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Linda Hummel-Shea ArtSpace in the Northern Essex Community College Bentley Library, 100 Elliott Street, Haverhill.<\/p>\n

The session will feature an exclusive presentation of “Madam Secretary” season four episode \u201cNight Watch,\u201d which depicts the U.S. government\u2019s actions in the wake of an erroneous report of nuclear attack. A discussion and Q&A session, centered on television\u2019s role in promoting civic engagement, will follow the main presentation.<\/p>\n

This event is co-sponsored by the NECC Civic Engagement Center, the Center for Liberal Arts, and the Students for a Democratic Society.<\/p>\n

Alexander Maggio is a writer and producer best known for his work with “Madam Secretary” and “Homeland.” He holds an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

The screening and discussion will coincide with NECC\u2019s annual \u201cCollege for a Day\u201d event, which welcomes anyone who is interested in enrolling at Northern Essex the opportunity to learn more about the life of a community college student, sit in on college-level courses, tour the campus, and more.
