{"id":27166,"date":"2019-04-08T18:33:03","date_gmt":"2019-04-08T22:33:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2019\/04\/08\/organizational\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T14:12:58","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T18:12:58","slug":"organizational","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2019\/04\/08\/organizational\/","title":{"rendered":"The Student as a Teacher: Business Major Shares Research on Organizational Analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2019\/04\/Daniel-Keating.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-20048\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2019\/04\/Daniel-Keating-300x175.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"175\" \/><\/a>After taking an online course on organizational analysis, Northern Essex Community College <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/learn\/credit-programs\/business\/business-transfer\/\">business transfer<\/a> major Daniel Keating became fascinated with the topic.\u00a0 That fascination led to additional research and a presentation which he will share on Wednesday, April 17 at noon in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/current-students\/academic-centers\/center-for-business-and-accounting\/\">Center for Business and Accounting<\/a>, located in the Spurk Building, Room 201, Haverhill Campus.<\/p>\n<p>Keating believes that the more you know about how organizations work, the more effective you will be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are all involved in many organizations,\u201d says Keating.\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cThose organizations may include your family, your school, your workplace, or the nonprofits you choose to get involved with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Keating promises that after attending his presentation you will be better able to navigate the organizations in your life and help make those organizations stronger.<\/p>\n<p>Keating, a Groveland resident, will graduate from Northern Essex in May and is continuing on for a bachelor\u2019s in finance and psychology.\u00a0 His ultimate goal is to obtain a master\u2019s or doctorate degree in industrial organizational psychology.<\/p>\n<p>He intends to pursue a career in private equity or venture capital, with a focus on improving employee life.<\/p>\n<p>While at Northern Essex, he\u2019s been very active on campus, serving as the student in residence at the Center for Business and Accounting and as a student representative on three of the New England Commission of Higher Education Inc (NECHE) self-study steering committees. \u00a0\u00a0He also serves as the student representative on two of the seven All College Assembly (ACA) committees: Finance and Student Affairs.\u00a0 The ACA is the college\u2019s internal governance system.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Sheila Muller is impressed with his focus and his dedication.\u00a0 \u201cDaniel believes the fastest way to impact society as a whole is through private industry, specifically small agile companies that are receiving funding and counseling to scale their practices before they become slow moving corporate behemoths.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about the April 17 presentation, contact Judith Ciampi in the Business and Accounting Center, 978 556-3409 or <a href=\"mailto:jciampi@necc.mass.edu\">jciampi@necc.mass.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After taking an online course on organizational analysis, Northern Essex Community College business transfer major Daniel Keating became fascinated with the topic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":27,"featured_media":27168,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[10],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-27166","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-archive"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.2 -
