Faculty, staff and students walk through last year’s health and wellness fair.<\/p><\/div>\n

Drowsy driving, the dangers of vaping, and alcohol awareness through mocktails are just a few of the health topics explored during Northern Essex Community College\u2019s<\/a> health and wellness fair on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the foyer of the Dimitry Building, 45 Franklin St., Lawrence.<\/p>\n

This event, sponsored by NECC\u2019s Center for Health Professions, is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Come and talk to health professionals as well as health students about health conditions and the health care programs that are offered by NECC. There will be a flu shot clinic and blood pressure checks. There will be table displays on topics like alcohol awareness, healthy relationships, dental and oral health, anxiety, and nutrition.<\/p>\n

Representatives from NECC\u2019s health programs<\/a>\u00a0will be on site to answer questions and discuss each of NECC\u2019s health care programs in depth.<\/p>\n

Northern Essex offers associate degrees in\u00a0General Studies: Health Specialization, Exercise Science, and Public Health, and certificates in Community Health Worker, Healthcare Tech (Phlebotomy & EKG), Medical Billing, Medical Coding, Medical Office Assistant, Nursing (ADN),\u00a0Nursing Advanced Placement: LPN to RN,\u00a0Paramedic Technology,\u00a0Radiologic Technology,\u00a0Business Management: Healthcare Practice\u00a0and\u00a0Respiratory Care; Dental Assisting,\u00a0Medical Assistant Day Program,\u00a0Paramedic Technology,\u00a0Practical Nursing (PN), and\u00a0Sleep Technologist; and a course in\u00a0EMT-Basic.<\/p>\n

Raffles will also be available for those in attendance.<\/p>\n
