Employees are selected each quarter based on recommendations from supervisors and co-workers. Recipients receive a $150 certificate to the restaurant or mall of his or her choice.<\/p>\n<p>Fantasia, an eight-year employee of NECC worked as a tutor in the reading center for five years. She currently coordinates the internships in the career and experiential education program.<\/p>\n<p>She was nominated by several co-workers. Tricia Butler, an administrative assistant in academic affairs, wrote in her nomination, \u201cWe saw her very optimistic, calm manner with students and all of the extra hours she put in supporting and growing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/succeed\/career-services\/\">Career Services Center<\/a>. Despite how busy she was\u2026if someone in our office appeared to be in need of assistance or support she was right there.\u201d \u201cShe is reliable and creative in her work,\u201d wrote Deb LaValley, an administrative assistant in Student Success. Ashley Moore, director of academic, career and civic engagement at NECC, supported the nomination writing, \u201cNoreen holds high work standards. Our office is very fast-paced and constantly changing. Noreen has picked up the work quickly, she takes on new responsibilities, and anticipates things that need to get done and does them without being asked. She is often one step ahead of me, particularly with the day-to-day operations of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/succeed\/career-services\/internships\/\">Internship Program<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fantasia holds a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Salem State University.<\/p>\n<p>For 15 years, Howard has been a staff assistant and English as a Second Language (ESL) tutor on the Lawrence campus. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Boston College and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Merrimack College. He also earned a TESOL Certificate of Completion from the School for International Training (SIT) Graduate Institute.<\/p>\n<p>He received two nominations. Gretchyn A. Gallagher, a tutor in NECC&#8217;s\u00a0 Tutoring Center, wrote \u201cDavid understands that different students have varying foundation skills and learning styles, and he adjusts accordingly. David Howard has a consistent high work standard, and he is always friendly, cooperative, and courteous to every individual on campus.\u00a0 He understands that the student is our priority, and helping each one develop their comprehension.\u201d Jennifer Levesque, is an academic coordinator in the Tutoring Center, wrote \u201cDavid is a reliable, respectful and dedicated tutor. David serves many students and usually does it as the sole tutor during the evenings and Saturdays\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mike Hearn, NECC\u2019s director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/library\/\">Library Services<\/a> nominated Lawrence campus librarian Jennifer Fielding noting she is an exemplary employee of the library and the college. \u201cShe expertly manages a very dynamic library on the Lawrence campus with very limited supervision, and has enhanced the student service touch points in very innovative and efficient ways.
