The work is a celebratory expression of earthly joy. Karen Kline, former Poet Laureate of North Andover, will contribute poetry to express the music.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Bennett Thomas has set four poems by Robert Frost to music in his premier work \u201cClose the Window\u201d for baritone voice, flute, cello and piano. The subject of the poems is the four seasons: summer- \u201cBlueberries\u201d, fall- \u201cNovember\u201d, winter- \u201cNow Close the Windows\u201d and spring- \u201cA Prayer in Spring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to have the wonderful baritone singer Will Prepestis performing this highly pleasing work by Thomas,\u201d said Michael Finegold, ECMP artistic director. \u201cThe poetry of Robert Frost is part of our project: Local Cultural History through Music.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The final piece is George Crumb\u2019s \u201cVox Bal\u00e6n\u00e6\u201d (Voice of the Whale) which is inspired by whale songs and performed by musicians wearing half black masks.<\/p>\n<p>The performers are Prepestis \u2013 baritone; Finegold \u2013 flute; Sebastian B\u00e4verstam \u2013 cello; and Constantine Finehouse\u00a0\u2013 piano.<\/p>\n<p>General admission tickets are $15; NECC students with college ID and kids 8 to 16 years-old are free.<\/p>\n<p>The Hadassah Medical Organization will benefit from donations\u00a0received at this\u00a0concert in behalf of Hadassah Associates.\u00a0Funds raised will be used in Alzheimer&#8217;s Research.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information, contact Finegold at <a href=\"mailto:ecmp314@comcast.net\">ecmp314@comcast.net<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Essex Chamber Music Players (ECMP) in residence at Northern Essex Community College, will present a concert in celebration of Earth Day on Sunday, April 22, at 2 p.m. in [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":26,"featured_media":27752,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[10],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-27750","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-archive"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.2 -
