{"id":27936,"date":"2018-08-22T18:44:12","date_gmt":"2018-08-22T22:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2018\/08\/22\/northern-essex-awards-scholarships\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T16:23:55","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T20:23:55","slug":"northern-essex-awards-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2018\/08\/22\/northern-essex-awards-scholarships\/","title":{"rendered":"Northern Essex Awards Scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\"><\/a><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2018\/08\/scholarship-image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-18667\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2018\/08\/scholarship-image-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\">Northern Essex Community College<\/a>\u00a0students were awarded approximately $175,000 in scholarships for the 2018\/2019 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur students are deeply appreciative of the many generous individuals and organizations that make these scholarships possible,\u201d said Jean Poth, vice president of institutional advancement. \u201cFor many of our students, a scholarship is what allows them to stay in school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scholarships\u00a0range from $250 to $5,000 and come from a variety of sources, including private donors, memorial donations, local businesses, and private foundations.<\/p>\n<p>There were several new scholarships awarded this year; the Bethany Pestana Scholarship, the Rosemary Klueber Memorial Scholarship, the Women of NECC Scholarship in Memory of Judith C.
