Assistant English Professor Tom Greene<\/p><\/div>\n

The leaves have turned, and the cool, crisp autumn air has arrived sooner than many have expected. Homes are decorated with pumpkins, ghosts, and spiders. With the season comes halloween festivities, and this is one you won\u2019t want to miss.<\/p>\n

Tom Greene, an Assistant English Professor at Northern Essex Community College, and part-time ghost-tour guide of Salem, will outline the evolution of the modern vampire legend, at Rowley Public Library, 141 Main St., Rowley, on Thursday Oct. 25., at 7 p.m. The event is presented by the Rowley Historical Society, free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

The Salem resident will discuss the evolution of the modern vampire legend and also reveal how vampires captivate people by addressing not only their deepest fears, but also their most secret desires.<\/p>\n

Greene, who specializes in victorian literature and cultural studies, holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Trinity University, a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and a Doctorate in English from UMass Amherst.<\/p>\n

The program is made possible in part through a donation from the Jewett Family of America. Light refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n
