{"id":28543,"date":"2017-08-18T12:50:45","date_gmt":"2017-08-18T16:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2017\/08\/18\/personal-care-attendant-program-info-sessions-offered-at-necc\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T17:11:29","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T21:11:29","slug":"personal-care-attendant-program-info-sessions-offered-at-necc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2017\/08\/18\/personal-care-attendant-program-info-sessions-offered-at-necc\/","title":{"rendered":"Personal Care Attendant Program Info Sessions offered at NECC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_13103\" style=\"width: 240px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2016\/03\/elderly-PCA-clip-newsroom.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13103\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-13103\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2016\/03\/elderly-PCA-clip-newsroom-230x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"230\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-13103\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">An info session for the personal care attendant program offered through NECC will be held September 12.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>An information session for individuals interested in becoming personal care attendants (PCA) for the elderly and disabled will be offered Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Opportunity Works (HOW), 671 Kenoza St., next to the Haverhill campus.<\/p>\n<p>This is a\u00a0noncredit,\u00a0PCA Fundamentals Program\u00a0offered at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/\">Northern Essex Community College.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 28-hour, eight-day, PCA program will be offered\u00a0Sept. 25 through Oct. 13 (no class 10\/9), Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>This program trains individuals in direct care skills used to help the elderly and disabled populations live independently. It is strongly recommended that individuals who are interested in attending the program attend this information session.\u00a0 Preregistration for this information session is not required.<\/p>\n<p>This program is ideal for those interested in learning the basic skills and knowledge to enter this in-demand field which also serves as a gateway to other health care professions.
