Essex Chamber Music Players artistic director Michael Finegold will perform at the Sunday, April 17, concert.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Essex Chamber Music Players<\/a> (ECMP), in residence at Northern Essex Community College<\/a>, will present the world premieres of four, new works in a concert on Sunday, April 17, at 2 p.m. in the Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St.<\/p>\n

The concert will feature \u201cThree Rustic Songs on Poems of Robert Frost\u201d: \u201cThe Quest of the Purpled-Fringed,\u201d \u201cThe Sound of Trees\u201d and \u201cAcceptance,\u201d set to music composed by Stephen James.<\/p>\n

The program also will include the full version of composer Elliott Miles McKinley\u2019s \u201cOf Memories\u2026Of Love 1978.\u201d The piece was created in memory of Joni Alicia Finegold, who died of cancer in 2012, the daughter of flutist and ECMP artistic director Michael Finegold of Andover.<\/p>\n

Also premiering is Peter R. Farmer\u2019s jazzy \u201cThoughts Returning\u201d and Nathanial Akers\u2019 \u201cFlight of Change\u201d, which is music in an \u201cindies\u201d style that includes a tribute to the late composer William Thomas McKinley.<\/p>\n

The concert is part of ECMP\u2019s Local Cultural History through Music project, which champions the poets of the Merrimack Valley.<\/p>\n

The performers are soprano Adriana Repetto, clarinetist Hunter Bennett, violinist Andrew Kohji Taylor, cellist Patrick Owen, pianists Stephen James and Sara Bob, Finegold, and conductor Jane Ring Frank.<\/p>\n

General admission tickets are $15.\u00a0 Admission is free for Northern Essex Community College students with a college ID.<\/p>\n
