\"Ellipsis<\/a>

The Ellipsis Trio,\u00a0<\/strong>which includes (L to R) pianist Constantine Finehouse, violinist Amanda Wang and cellist Patrick Owen, will perform with the Essex Chamber Music Players.<\/p><\/div>\n

In honor of Election Day, the Essex Chamber Music Players<\/a> (ECMP) in residence at Northern Essex Community College <\/a>and the Ellipsis Trio of Cambridge <\/a>will present a concert of music by noted American composers at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, in the Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliot Street.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this stressful time, we wanted to soothe the American soul with beautiful American music before voting on Election Day, November 8,\u201d said Andover resident Michael Finegold, ECMP flutist and artistic director.<\/p>\n

The program includes: \u201cPiano Trio, Op.150\u201d by Amy Beach, considered to be the first established American women composer; \u201cPiano Trio No.2 in B Flat Major,\u00a0Op. 65\u201d by Arthur Foote; \u201cThree Spirituals for Flute and Piano\u201d\u00a0by Evelyn Simpson Curenton; \u201cHomage to Poulenc, Mozart and MacDowell for Flute, Cello and Piano\u201d by Emma Lou Diemer.<\/p>\n

Beach and Foote were members of the acclaimed 19th Century \u201cBoston Six,\u201d who were among America\u2019s first classical music composers. Simpson Curenton is a contemporary African American composer, pianist, organist, and vocalist. Diemer composed \u201cHomage to Poulenc, Mozart and MacDowell\u201d for ECMP in 2005.<\/p>\n

Tickets will be sold at the door. General admission is $15; NECC students with a college ID and children 8 to16 years old are free.<\/p>\n

The motto of the Essex Chamber Music Players, is \u201cMusic for the 21st Century, Musical Treasures of the Past, New Music Premieres.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ellipsis Trio is a piano trio residing in Cambridge that entertains those who appreciate a Schubert melody, to those who enjoy Aretha Franklin.<\/p>\n
