Beloved children\u2019s author Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, was born on March 2, 1904. Today would have been the American writer and cartoonist\u2019s 111 birthday. As a homage to the literary genius who brought us \u201cGreen Eggs and Ham\u201d,\u00a0\u201cThe Cat in the Hat\u201d,\u00a0\u201cThe Lorax\u201d,\u00a0\u201cOne Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish\u201d,\u00a0and \u201cFox in Socks\u201d,\u00a0to name a few of his works, Northern Essex Community College\u2019s Alumni Office invited the children of Little Sprouts to a morning celebration in the David Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus.<\/p>\n
After a reading of \u201cThe Cat in the Hat Comes Back\u201d by staff and faculty including NECC Workforce Development Director George Moriarty, NECC President Lane Glenn, and Early Childhood Education professor Deirdre Budzyna, \u00a0the children were treated to a breakfast of fresh fruit, green eggs and ham sandwiches, yogurt, and juice.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Each child was given a copy of the book as a keepsake.<\/p>\n\n
