Many online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses are offered for the spring semester.<\/p><\/div>\n

This fall semester, which begins September 9, Northern Essex Community College<\/a> will offer 18 associate degree or certificate programs fully or almost fully (80*) online<\/a> as well as 160 courses that are offered fully online or as a hybrid combining online learning with a traditional classroom experience.<\/p>\n

Programs offered online include business, computer information systems, sleep technology, criminal justice, liberal arts, web design, and more.\u00a0 And online courses range from accounting to technical writing to forensic science.<\/p>\n

Northern Essex has been offering online courses and programs for the past 17 years, according to Melba Acevedo, director, Instructional Technology & Online Learning, and their popularity grows each year.<\/p>\n

\u201cEighty-three percent of our students work full time or part time while in college,\u201d said Acevedo.\u00a0 \u201cOnline options give them flexibility.\u201d<\/p>\n

With campuses in Haverhill and Lawrence, Northern Essex Community College offers over 70 associate degree and certificate programs as well as hundreds of noncredit courses designed for personal enrichment and career growth<\/i>.\u00a0 More than 7,400 students are enrolled in credit associate degree and certificate programs on the Haverhill and Lawrence campuses; and another 6,700 take noncredit workforce development and community education classes on campus, and at businesses and community sites across the Merrimack Valley.<\/i>\u00a0 Northern Essex is the only state college located in the lower Merrimack Valley Region of Massachusetts.
