{"id":29658,"date":"2015-10-15T13:01:50","date_gmt":"2015-10-15T17:01:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2015\/10\/15\/necc-community-invited-to-be-a-part-of-new-strategic-plan\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T16:19:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T20:19:16","slug":"necc-community-invited-to-be-a-part-of-new-strategic-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2015\/10\/15\/necc-community-invited-to-be-a-part-of-new-strategic-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"NECC Community Invited to be a Part of New Strategic Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2015\/10\/201510-044-SOAR_FB_graphic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-12230\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2015\/10\/201510-044-SOAR_FB_graphic-300x157.jpg\" alt=\"201510-044-SOAR_FB_graphic\" width=\"300\" height=\"157\" \/><\/a>Northern Essex Community College faculty, staff, and students are all invited to contribute to the <a href=\"https:\/\/facstaff.necc.mass.edu\/vision-and-planning-initiatives\/strategic-planning\/necc-2020\/\">college\u2019s strategic plan for 2020<\/a> by sharing their thoughts at\u00a0 upcoming SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Results) forums or by submitting their thoughts online.<\/p>\n<p>Over 100 members of the college community have attended the Strategic Planning SOAR forums to date, and the college has scheduled two more dates for &#8220;drop-in&#8221; SOAR forums&#8211;that are designed for faculty, staff, and students to &#8220;drop-in&#8221; at any time that is convenient.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;drop-in&#8221; forums are scheduled for Monday, November 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 244 in the Dimitry Building in Lawrence and on Thursday, November, 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 103B, the Hartleb Technology Center, Haverhill.<\/p>\n<p>The SOAR Form is now online and can be accessed using the <a href=\"https:\/\/facstaff.necc.mass.edu\/vision-and-planning-initiatives\/strategic-planning\/soar-forum-questionnaire\/\">link<\/a> below until Friday, December 4. Each of the six Strategic Themes has its own form.<\/p>\n<p>The college will once again be using the <a href=\"https:\/\/facstaff.necc.mass.edu\/vision-and-planning-initiatives\/appreciative-inquiry\/\">Appreciative Inquiry<\/a> approach of inclusive planning to create the college\u2019s new strategic plan. This approach was used very successfully to create the current strategic plan: Northern Essex Community College\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/facstaff.necc.mass.edu\/vision-and-planning-initiatives\/strategic-planning\/strategic-planning-and-goals\/\">VOICES: 2012-2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new strategic planning process began at the September 8 convocation with an exercise designed to uncover themes that resonate within the college community.
