{"id":29667,"date":"2015-10-23T21:04:06","date_gmt":"2015-10-24T01:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2015\/10\/24\/expos-open-to-professionals-looking-to-advance-their-education\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T16:19:29","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T20:19:29","slug":"expos-open-to-professionals-looking-to-advance-their-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2015\/10\/23\/expos-open-to-professionals-looking-to-advance-their-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Expos Open to Professionals Looking to Advance Their Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\">Northern Essex Community College<\/a> is partnering with its local chambers of commerce and UMass Lowell and Suffolk University-MBA North to inspire local employees to continue their education while working.<\/p>\n<p>The college is sponsoring Business &amp; Technology Education Expos in Lawrence on Thursday, November 5, in partnership with the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, and in Haverhill, Tuesday, December 8, in partnership with the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce.\u00a0 Both programs will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. and are free and open to the public.\u00a0\u00a0 Light refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy 2020, 70 percent of jobs in Massachusetts will require an associate degree or certificate,\u201d said Lane Glenn, president of Northern Essex.\u00a0 \u201cAt these expos, employees will learn how they can earn their degree while working, even full-time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lawrence event, on November 5, will be held in the Dr. Ibrahim El Hefni Allied Health&amp; Technology Center, 414 Common St, Room 301 and 302.\u00a0 And, the Haverhill event, on December 8, will be held in the Hartleb Technology center, TC-103 A\/B, Haverhill.<\/p>\n<p>Both events will include keynote speakers (Mayor Dan Rivera of Lawrence in Lawrence and Michael Moore, president and CEO of Moore Staffing Services in Haverhill), student panels, and information on NECC, UMass Lowell, and Suffolk University MBA North programs.\u00a0 The programs including keynotes and student panels will begin at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact Adam Cutler, at <a href=\"mailto:acutler@necc.mass.edu\">acutler@necc.mass.edu<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Northern Essex Community College is partnering with its local chambers of commerce and UMass Lowell and Suffolk University-MBA North to inspire local employees to continue their education while working.
