{"id":29730,"date":"2015-12-17T19:33:49","date_gmt":"2015-12-18T00:33:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/2015\/12\/18\/chinese-higher-ed-administrators-visit-lawrence-campus\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T16:21:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T20:21:12","slug":"chinese-higher-ed-administrators-visit-lawrence-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2015\/12\/17\/chinese-higher-ed-administrators-visit-lawrence-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese Higher Ed Administrators Visit Lawrence Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2015\/12\/Chinese-Group-print.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-12604\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2015\/12\/Chinese-Group-print-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Chinese Group print\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>NECC President Lane Glenn recently hosted a group of 25 college presidents and vice presidents from Chinese technical colleges which play a role that\u2019s similar to community colleges in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The group toured the El-Hefni Allied Health &amp; Technology Center; participated in workshops on leadership and strategic planning led by Glenn and Linda Meccouri, NECC dean of professional development; and learned about NECC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.necc.mass.edu\/academics\/courses-programs\/areas\/health\/paramedic-technology\/\">health care programs<\/a> in a presentation given by Mary Farrell, NECC dean of allied health professions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2015\/12\/Chinese-hallway-print.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-12608\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/media-old\/2015\/12\/Chinese-hallway-print-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Chinese hallway print\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>They also met with two of the college\u2019s health care partners, Cindy Phelan, vice president of human resources, Lawrence General Hospital and John Raser, MD of the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, to learn about how the college collaborates with local employers to prepare students in health care programs for their careers.<\/p>\n<p>The visit was organized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masscc.org\/\">Massachusetts Community College Executive Office<\/a> on behalf of <a href=\"https:\/\/globalcorporatecollege.com\/\">Global Corporate College<\/a>, which provides training and performance improvement support to employers worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NECC President Lane Glenn recently hosted a group of 25 college presidents and vice presidents from Chinese technical colleges which play a role that\u2019s similar to community colleges in the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":164,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[10],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-29730","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-archive"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.2 -
