The winners of the NECC First Annual Golf Tournament were from Jimmy’s Pizza in Chelmsford.<\/p><\/div>\n

Under brilliant skies, some 72 golfers participated in the Northern Essex Community College Alumni Association\u2019s First Annual Golf Tournament at the Renaissance Golf Club in Haverhill on Monday, June 23.<\/p>\n

More than $8,500 was raised through player participation and sponsorships. All proceeds from the event will support the NECC Fund, which provides scholarships and academic enrichment programs for students at the college.<\/p>\n

The foursome of Angelo Theofilopoulos, Bill Theofilopoulos, Jay Claremont, and Johnny Strong representing Jimmy\u2019s Pizza in Chelmsford took first place. These four players received a $100 gift card to the Renaissance as well as a golf club cover in a laptop bag. The NexDine foursome of Gregg Hartman, David Lanci, Barry Towle, and Dave Buffum,<\/p>\n

Sal Lupoli, Michael Lupoli, Gerry-Lynn Darcy, and Donald Rist<\/p><\/div>\n

came in second. Each of these players also received a golf club cover, laptop bag, and a $50 gift card to the Renaissance.<\/p>\n

The awards for longest drive went to Odette Cook and Johnny Strong.<\/p>\n

The evening was capped off with a dinner of chicken parmagiana and pasta sponsored by Comfort Home Care.<\/p>\n

Renaissance Golf Club was recently named \u201cCourse of the Year\u201d for all of New England by the New England Chapter of the National Golf Course Owner of America (NEGCOA).<\/p>\n

Lupoli Companies was the Tournament Platinum Sponsor. Participants had the opportunity to win a free car donated by Regan Ford, the event\u2019s Hole-in-One sponsor. Other sponsors included the event\u2019s Practice Range Sponsor-Salem Co-Operative Bank and Awards Dinner Sponsor-Comfort Home Care. NexDine sponsored the boxed lunches.<\/p>\n
