Deval Patrick. <\/p>\n<p>A registered nurse, Daly O\u2019Brien is currently case manager at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill where she is responsible for the daily clinical assessment of patients\u2019 needs in the continuum of care.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her experience as a department and case manager, Daly O\u2019Brien has 12 years of experience as an emergency room nurse. <\/p>\n<p>A Haverhill native, she holds an associate degree in nursing from Vermont College\/Norwich University. She also earned certifications in leadership management, emergency room nursing, and intensive care nursing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am honored to be appointed by the Governor to such an important board in this community. NECC represents our future. The college&#8217;s investment and contribution to greater Haverhill is invaluable,&#8221;<br \/>\nsays Daly O&#8217;Brien.<\/p>\n<p>An 11-year member of the Haverhill City Council, this mother of four girls, has been involved with numerous civic and educational organizations. She is currently active with the Democratic City Committee and actively supports The ARC, Career Resources and organizations\/projects that serve young women. She was the recipient of the \u201cBold Award\u201d presented by Girls INC. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are honored to have such an involved member of the community join our board,\u201d says NECC President Lane Glenn.<\/p>\n<p>The college&#8217;s Board of Trustees includes nine members who are appointed by the governor of the state to a maximum of two five-year terms as well as an alumni-elected member, who also serves a maximum of 10 years, and a student trustee who serves for two semesters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Ellen Daly O\u2019Brien of Haverhill has been appointed to the Northern Essex Community College Board of Trustees by Gov.
