Three Northern Essex Community College employees \u2013 Maureen Lundergan of Raymond, N.H., Rob Parker of North Andover, and Bill Zannini of Salem, N.H. \u2013 have received the college\u2019s quarterly employee recognition award for the second quarter of 2011.<\/p>\n

The Employee Recognition Award was started by NECC President David Hartleb as a way to recognize the many and varied contributions of the college\u2019s nearly 700 employees. Employees are selected each quarter based on recommendations from supervisors and coworkers. Recipients receive a $150 certificate to the restaurant or mall of his or her choice.<\/p>\n

Parker, special programs coordinator of the NECC Sport and Fitness Center, has worked at NECC for 16 years. He was nominated by two college employees for his commitment to encouraging healthy living to NECC\u2019s staff, faculty, and students.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have watched Rob run the Fitness Center with complete commitment and dedication\u2026\u201d wrote Professor Ethel Schuster who teaches Zumba classes. \u201cIn summary, Rob has shown commitment and dedication to NECC students, staff, and faculty\u2019s fitness and well being above and beyond his call of duty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parker earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bradford College and Master of Science in Exercise Science from Springfield College.<\/p>\n

Assistant Dean Chuck Phair nominated business professor Bill Zannini, who is a seven year college employee, saying \u201cBill is well known across the campus for his contributions not only to our students but to the college as a whole. Students see Bill as an experienced faculty member, a former business leader, advisor, and, most importantly, a mentor. Bill is tough but fair with his students earning him respect that is well deserved.\u201d He was the first to initiate the Business Plan Competition that has now become a yearly event on campus.<\/p>\n

Zannini holds a Bachelor of Science degree from UMass Lowell, an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and an Executive MBA from the University of Texas, Austin.<\/p>\n

Lundergan, an administrative assistant in the Deaf Studies program since 2005, was nominated by Program Coordinator Luce Aubrey who wrote that she is all a program coordinator could wish for. \u201cNot only is she organized, conscientious thorough, efficient, and productive, she\u2019s practically prescient. More than once she has appeared at my side having completed a task before I had even opened my mouth to request it\u2026.More importantly, however, Maureen has, and continues to be, the friendly, supportive face in the ASL lab\u2026 As the person who is the \u201cfirst responder\u201d to many of the informational queries we receive, Maureen provides timely, courteous, and helpful responses.\u201d<\/p>\n

She is a graduate of the Sign Language interpreting program. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts at the University of New Hampshire in Manchester.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
