In honor of Veterans Day, November 11, Northern Essex Community College will be showing the film, \u201cThe Welcome.\u201d Free and open to the public, the showing of the film will take place on Wednesday, November 9th, from 7-9:30pm in the Hartleb Technology Center, Room 103A on the college\u2019s Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Welcome\u201d a documentary directed by Kim Shelton, shows the struggle of returning back to civilian life, for returning veterans. The film joins a number veterans at a healing retreat who come together to tell their stories. These inspiring veterans show the viewer how they have turned the horrors of war into poetry.<\/p>\n

This documentary won the 2011 Audience Award, Best Feature Documentary at the Ashland Independent Film Festival.<\/p>\n
