{"id":31276,"date":"1970-01-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1970-01-01T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom2\/1970\/01\/01\/neccs-stillpoint-dancers-present-spring-showcase-2\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T22:39:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T02:39:17","slug":"neccs-stillpoint-dancers-present-spring-showcase-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/1970\/01\/01\/neccs-stillpoint-dancers-present-spring-showcase-2\/","title":{"rendered":"NECC\u2019s Stillpoint Dancers Present Spring Showcase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A dance piece choreographed by Northern Essex Community College alumna Amanda Westcott will be one of the center pieces of NECC\u2019s annual spring performance &#8211; \u201cStillpoint XXIII\u201d presented Friday, April 24<sup>th<\/sup>, and Saturday, April 25<sup>th<\/sup>, at 8 p.m. at Lawrence High School, 70-71 North Parish Road, Lawrence.<\/p>\n<p>Westcott initially choreographed this piece for the NECC dancers who attended the American College Dance Association conference this past March at Rhode Island College. The piece, titled \u201cJoe\u201d is about the loss of a close loved one, and how the survivors cope and find closure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Another piece, \u201cFinish Fast\u201d was choreographed by Dance Program Coordinator, Michelle Deane for the Modern Dance Techniques class.\u00a0 This piece explores the idea of life being a race that never ends.\u00a0It challenges the question, how do we finish?\u00a0 Do we race through life or do we enjoy the journey?<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for student and seniors, and $4 for children under 12.
