{"id":34961,"date":"2026-07-28T08:05:35","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T12:05:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=34961"},"modified":"2026-07-28T08:05:35","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T12:05:35","slug":"necc-presents-ninth-annual-golf-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2026\/07\/28\/necc-presents-ninth-annual-golf-tournament\/","title":{"rendered":"NECC Presents Ninth Annual Golf Tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, August 31st, we invite alumni, sponsors, and friends of the college to join us for the 9th Annual Northern Essex Community College Golf Tournament at the Renaissance Golf Club.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament will feature morning and afternoon flights. Prizes will be awarded to each flight\u2019s top teams and contest winners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tournament is our single largest fundraiser for the NECC Athletic program and provides us with additional resources to enhance the student-athlete experience for all those students in the program,\u201d said NECC Director of Athletics, Dan Blair. \u201cThe tournament has grown every year, and as we continue to establish ourselves on the national stage, the funds raised from this event are vitally important to the growth and success of the department.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Knights are coming off a record-breaking year with the men&#8217;s basketball team and shot putter Maci Abbatessa winning national titles. And the Northern Essex Community College athletic program finished 12th in the final standings of the <a href=\"https:\/\/necc.edu\/newsroom\/2026\/06\/18\/necc-ranked-top-njcaa-athletic-program-in-new-england-for-second-year\/\">NATYCAA Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics<\/a> in the non-scholarship division. The Ron Case Cup has recognizes excellence in two-year college athletics based on championship competition. The Knights\u2019 12th-place finish marks the highest finish ever by a community or junior college in New England in the 23 years the cup has been awarded.<\/p>\n<p>Team registration and sponsorship opportunities are still available for the upcoming Golf Tournament.
