Welcome Veterans, Service Members and Families!
The Center for Accessibility Resources & Services (CARS) at Northern Essex Community College is dedicated to providing reasonable, case-by-case accommodations for students with disabilities, including our veteran community. We work closely with you through a private, collaborative process to arrange the support you need to thrive.
NOTE: Your disability documentation and diagnosis remain completely confidential. This information will never appear on your NECC transcripts or official college records.
What Resources Do You Need to Reach Your Goals?
We invite all students to connect with our center and to share their specific needs. To establish your accommodations, you can disclose your disability and submit standard documentation required by our office.

We offer a variety of support options, including:
- Alternative Textbook Formats: Course materials available in PDF, ePUB, or Word formats.

Assistive Technology: Tools like digital recorders, magnifiers, and assistive listening devices.

Classroom & Furniture Support: Accessible furniture and preferential seating arrangements.

Lecture & Note-Taking Support: Permission to audio record lectures and access to note-taker support.

Testing Accommodations: Extended testing time, a reduced-distraction environment, or a separate room when needed.
