Additional Program Information

NECC’s Public Health Associate Degree will prepare you for a variety of entry-level public health positions in the community. You will also be able to transfer credits toward a bachelor’s degree in health education, health administration, environmental health, or a related field. With this program you will:

  • Learn about healthy lifestyles, population perspectives, public health issues, systems, programs, outreach, and education
  • Benefit from real-world experience by participating in a practicum (internship)
  • Improve your career options by earning a degree in Public Health

Program Effectiveness Data (Outcomes)

  • Successfully distinguish an understanding of interventions that address public health issues including the structure and function of the organizational setting and public health policies.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to explore a selected public health issue. This may include coursework and or interdisciplinary /integrative feedback.
  • Classify public health systems as they pertain to organization, funding and delivery of service.
  • Integrate student practices to comply with the Massachusetts Code of Ethics for Community Health Workers.
  • Develop a needs assessment and create a plan to educate a selected population on health risk modification.
