Food Assistance for NECC Students

Food insecurity is a common challenge for college students in Massachusetts and across the country. Northern Essex Community College cares about its students and knows hunger can impact academic success. We have several initiatives aimed to help.

Food Vouchers

Food Voucher Distribution (Haverhill)
May 2026

Current registered students may receive four (4) $10 food vouchers per distribution at the Welcome Express in Haverhill (SC 1st floor) on Wednesday May 6, 2026 from 12pm-2pm & Thursday May 7, 2026 from 9am-11am (while supplies last)

Food vouchers can be used on the Haverhill Campus to buy food at thePerfect Blend Cafe (Haverhill Campus Spurk Building, 1st floor), NECC Campus Store (Haverhill Campus SC, 2nd floor) and UTEC Food Truck.  For more information about this program please email Allison Gouveia at agouveia@necc.mass.edu

Grab and Go Station

NECC has a “grab and go” station on the Lawrence campus, available to all current students at no cost.

   MAY HOURS

       Regular hours: M – Th: 10:00 am to 3:00pm

   JUNE HOURS

        Tuesdays: 10:00 am to 3:00pm

        CLOSED: Tuesday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 9 

  SUMMER HOURS

SNAP Benefits

Many students who qualify for financial aid also qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
