Associate Degree in Engineering Science: Technology Option

This program will prepare you for immediate entry into the workforce, to meet the demand for technicians, engineering assistants, test equipment specialists, and more. You can also save thousands of dollars by starting at NECC and transferring to earn your bachelor’s degree. In this program you will:

  • Choose from and electronic technology or mechanical technology concentration
  • Get hands-on experience with equipment used by engineering companies specializing in product design, development, and manufacturing
  • Learn engineering fundamentals, including 2D and 3D modeling, software simulation, and lab experiments
  • Benefit from student support resources, including tutoring, and participate in extracurricular activities
  • Prepare for in-demand positions available across a broad array of industries

If you enjoy working with technology, and your hands, NECC’s Engineering Science: Technology degree can prepare you for a broad array of positions in engineering companies specializing in design, development, manufacturing, and service. You can also transfer to earn your bachelor’s degree.

Program Outcomes

Program Outcomes

  • Analyze problems, isolate and describe the important components of a problem: what is given (design specifications, performance requirements and testing standards). Identify variables- known and unknown.
    • Represent problems in a visual form, such as a schematic, flow chart, diagram, data table, or model.
  • Validate strong fundamentals in engineering technology and the technical skills needed to support engineering activities, particularly in the design, testing, and manufacture of products, systems, and devices.
  • Prove the capacity to conduct an experiment, use laboratory materials, properly and safely, note observations accurately, precisely and describe procedures.
  • Effectively use software simulation and information acquisition tools to collect, analyze and interpret data. Develop proficiency in the use and application of new tools and methods from the field of math, science, engineering and technology.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be an independent and equal contributor on a team-based project. Be able to articulate the overall team project goals and roles of the members.

With NECC’s Credit for Prior Learning, you can move through the program at a faster pace and graduate sooner! These credits are covered free-of-charge for eligible Massachusetts learners.
