A Christmas Carol

“A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens is a holiday tradition at Northern Essex Community College.
Ebenezer Scrooge, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Cratchit Family, and other Dickens characters come to life in this musical adaptation of the classic play, adding fun and tradition to the holiday season at the Chester Hawrylciw Theater in the Spurk Building on the Haverhill Campus.
The annual musical production is led by NECC Music Professor Alisa Bucchiere and directed by John Budzyna. It is a production of the Liberal Arts Division, NECC Music, and the Performing Arts & Communication Department. Originally presented in 1997 as a one-time fundraiser for the performing arts at NECC, the play was so successful that it became a community event each holiday season with faculty, staff, students, and their family members auditioning for roles.
