LPL and NECC Audiobook Walk

Join the Northern Essex Community College Librarians and Lawrence Public Library for a listening walk around the NECC Lawrence campus and downtown with your audiobook, podcast, or favorite music! Bring your own phone or audiobook listening device and headphones/earbuds.
Signing Up:
NECC student, faculty, and staff should sign up using this form. Lawrence Public Library walkers should email info@lawrencepl.org for instructions on signing up.
Choosing a Book:
Need to find an audiobook? We will share information about how to access audiobooks via the Libby app before the walk. Or get started ahead of time by adding Libby to your device and signing in with your NECC account or public library card:

Arriving at the Lawrence Public Library:
We will meet to start our walk in front of the Lawrence Public Library. The address is 51 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA.
Some parking is available in the library parking lot, otherwise, please use the paid Lawrence street parking. Meet Grace and the other librarians in front of the Lawrence Public Library main doors to start our walk around downtown Lawrence.
The Walking Route:
Leave the Public Library and cross Haverhill Street to get Compagnone Commons; walk around the Commons to the East, turning right on Jackson Street. When we get to Jackson Court, we will walk down it to see the new Lawrence Groundworks Community Garden beds. Then we will continue walking clockwise around the Commons to turn right on Common Street. We’ll continue down Common Street, passing the El Hefni building, until we arrive at 45 Franklin Street, which can be accessed from Common Street. The final meeting spot is in front of the Dimitry building by the picnic table, where we will meet to discuss our reads and enjoy snacks/refreshments.
For those who want to continue back to the Lawrence Public Library, you can easily do so by walking east on Lowell Street. The route from the Library to NECC is 1 mile; to return to the Lawrence Public Library makes the route 1.5 miles. You can preview the route on Google maps here.
