From Early College to NECC

What are my options for staying at NECC?

The confidence and skills students develop in Early College provides a strong foundation for future success at NECC.  With over 60 associate degrees and certificates in areas such as health professions, liberal arts, STEM, and business and professional studies, NECC offers the programs to help students pursue their goals, and many Early College students ultimately decide to make the transition from Early College to matriculated students at NECC!

Because Early College students have already experienced college-level coursework, they’re uniquely prepared to thrive here and build on the momentum they’ve already created throughout Early College.  With dedicated faculty, flexible programs, ongoing supports, and clear pathways to transfer to four-year institutions or move directly into a career, transitioning to NECC after your Early College experience allows you to seamlessly transition continue moving forward.

Are there any special programs for students who complete the Early College Program?

EC Students may be eligible for other financial opportunities, including the Promise Program.

What is the Promise Scholarship Program?

NECC’s Early College Promise Scholarship allows students from certain Early College programs and High Schools to receive additional funds if they come to NECC.

Who is Eligible?

Eligible students must:

  • Have completed a Lawrence High School, Haverhill High School, Triton Regional High School, Newburyport High School, Amesbury High School, Pentucket High School, or Ipswich High School Early College Program
  • Earned 12 NECC credits while in Early College by the time they graduate high school.
  • Have a NECC GPA of a 2.5 or above
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and/or MAFSA

How long can I receive the scholarship?

Once in the program students can receive additional funding for up to four semesters.
