Learn AI Fundamentals & Practical Skills in Just One Hour
This one-hour workshop introduces NECC faculty and staff to the basics of AI using Microsoft Copilot, a free tool that can streamline everyday work tasks. Participants will learn what AI actually is, dispel common misconceptions, and discover how to write effective prompts that yield useful results. Through hands-on practice, attendees will explore practical applications including drafting emails, creating teaching materials, generating rubrics, and building PowerPoint outlines. The workshop emphasizes that AI is a tool requiring human guidance, not a replacement for professional judgment, and provides techniques for iterative refinement of AI-generated content. Led by NECC’s AI Task Force, this session offers practical skills you can use immediately while contributing to the college’s broader AI policy development.
