📝 The Language of Artificial Intelligence

December 1 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join the AI Task Force for a special one-hour event!
Decode AI Writing Patterns & Enhance Your Detection Skills
Learn to Recognize, Respond to, and Refine AI-Generated Text

After attending this meeting, you will be able to recognize common patterns in AI-generated writing. We will look at why certain AI writing habits make text less convincing, even when the grammar is correct. Examples include overused phrases like “delve into” or “it’s important to note.” We will also examine constructions, like rhetorical contrasts such as “not only… but also”, that are often used in AI-generated text. Participants will learn to spot these patterns in student work. We will discuss how to give better feedback when we see AI-influenced writing. The workshop will also cover how to use AI tools more effectively in our own work. We can improve our writing by recognizing and avoiding these formulaic styles.
